Heart Pleasing Meal Ideas - Saturday
Breakfast
- ½ cup fresh fruit salad
- 1 Country Harvest Twelve Grain bagel with:
- 1 egg (Omega-3), sunny-side-up
- 1 slice light cheese (< 20% M.F.)
- Water, tea or coffee
Morning Snack
- 3/4 cup fruit yogurt
Lunch
- Baby Spinach and Tuna Salad: combine 1 ½ cups baby spinach leaves, 3 Italian tomatoes, ½ red pepper, 1 3-ounce can tuna (90 g), ¼ avocado and ½ cucumber. Toss with homemade vinaigrette made with 2 tsp olive oil and 1 tsp balsamic vinegar.
- 1 slice Country Harvest Seven Grain bread, toasted
- 2 clementines
Afternoon Snack
- 1 cup calcium-enriched soy beverage
- 1 apple
Dinner
- 1 walnut endive salad with walnut oil vinaigrette
- 3 ½ ounces chicken breast with sun-dried tomatoes
- 1/2 cup homemade ratatouille (tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini and onions)
- 1 cup whole grain couscous
- 1/2 cup fruit sorbet
- Water, tea, tisane
Evening Snack
- 1/2 cup milk and two fig cookies
