Heart Pleasing Meal Ideas - Saturday

Breakfast

  • ½ cup fresh fruit salad
  • 1 Country Harvest Twelve Grain bagel with:
  • 1 egg (Omega-3), sunny-side-up
  • 1 slice light cheese (< 20% M.F.)
  • Water, tea or coffee

Morning Snack

  • 3/4 cup fruit yogurt

Lunch

  • Baby Spinach and Tuna Salad: combine 1 ½ cups baby spinach leaves, 3 Italian tomatoes, ½ red pepper, 1 3-ounce can tuna (90 g), ¼ avocado and ½ cucumber. Toss with homemade vinaigrette made with 2 tsp olive oil and 1 tsp balsamic vinegar.
  • 1 slice Country Harvest Seven Grain bread, toasted
  • 2 clementines

Afternoon Snack

  • 1 cup calcium-enriched soy beverage
  • 1 apple

Dinner

  • 1 walnut endive salad with walnut oil vinaigrette
  • 3 ½ ounces chicken breast with sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup homemade ratatouille (tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini and onions)
  • 1 cup whole grain couscous
  • 1/2 cup fruit sorbet
  • Water, tea, tisane

Evening Snack

  • 1/2 cup milk and two fig cookies
